How can we help you?

At Advocacy for Veterans and Families Incorporated, we understand that navigating the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) claims process can feel complicated, stressful and overwhelming. Our caring team provides free, independent advocacy and support to help veterans and their families better understand the claims process and work through the steps involved in seeking appropriate support and assistance. We can assist veterans with understanding DVA requirements, preparing and progressing claims, gathering relevant supporting information and navigating the various stages of the application process.

Our support extends beyond claims. We recognise that the transition from military service can bring many challenges, and we take a holistic approach that considers the well-being, circumstances and individual needs of each veteran and their family. Our advocates are trained through the Advocacy Training and Development Program (ATDP) and are committed to providing respectful, compassionate and informed assistance.

Where a veteran needs further assistance with a decision or review, we can also provide support through our Veterans Review Board (VRB) advocacy service, including assistance with understanding VRB processes, preparing applications and navigating the review process. Our aim is to ensure veterans are not left to navigate these systems alone.

You do not have to face the DVA or VRB process by yourself. We are here to listen, explain, advocate and support you every step of the way—with understanding, dignity and respect. Best of all, our advocacy service is completely free to veterans and their families.

All of our services are completely Free of Charge, there is no out of pocket expense for our support services, we operate a full Volunteer organisation and are Not-for-Profit.
